Meet Cherish

Cherish began performing at the age of 3 years old. With the fireplace as her stage and the booming voice of her dad introducing her to her audience, Cherish's special concerts in the family's living room were inclusive of one song: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. It wasn't until she performed in her 6th grade talent show that she knew she wanted to sing. When she took hold of the microphone, she knew that music was for her. Growing up, Cherish involved herself in theater and was awarded the Patsy Cline Award for Achievement in youth singing and theater. Seeing her talent, Cherish's aunt paid for her to take voice lessons. At 15 years old, she was recognized by a local radio station and asked to open for country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus. This marked her first professional performance. Cherish soon moved to Oregon where she continued to sing at any chance she got. She performed the national anthem at numerous sporting events and sang at any local events she could. Showing promise and doing well in school, she was awarded a youth recognition award for overcoming adversity and for youth achievement. Performing at the county fair, she placed in the top ten for the state of Oregon and was again recognized by the GM of the local radio station. This opened the door for more opportunity; opening for artists such as Neil McCoy, Heartland and Buddy Jewel.Currently living in California, Cherish has been performing throughout Orange County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego and L.A. Counties. She has performed for many charity events, including the one that makes her most proud: the Charity for Fallen Soldiers at the Honor and Gratitude Memorial Park in Irvine, CA. Cherish was recently awarded the West Coast Country Music Association Top Female Vocalist of the Year for 2011 and was runner-up for Entertainer of the Year 2011 in the new country category. She's been back in the studio, concentrating more on her songwriting, something she felt for many years that she couldnt do. Those feelings changed when as a young wife and mother, Cherish wrote her very first set of lyrics. Her daughter was only a month old when her husband was deployed to Afghanistan. While he was away, Cherish was informed that her mother was dying of cancer. This challenging time was a turning point in her life and career; when she decided to put pen to paper and describe her feelings and emotion. Cherish has continued her songwriting, and has collaborated with several notable musicians and songwriters. After the release and success of her independent E.P. Horizon, Cherish is currently working in the studio with Jason Brawner, whose credits include: Beyonce, Hilary Duff, Carrie Underwood and more. She is currently working on her first full length album. Cherish is truly a talent to be reckoned with. She sings with sincerity in her voice and performs with a confidence that commands attention. With her intensity, powerful stage presence and growing songwriting talent, it is only a matter of time until she takes the music world by storm..

CHERISH IN STUDIO WITH JASON BRAWNERCherish is currently writing and recording songs with Jason Brawner Producer and professional musician. Jason, has done notable contributions with Beyonce, Hilary Duff, Carrie Underwood, Thompson Square and Guitar Hero. His film and TV credits include FOX, CBS, NBC, BBC, Bravo, Harpo Productions (Oprah), five tv (UK) and Dogstar Media among others. From 2003-2007 Jason wrote and produced for select contestants of American Idol. He has toured with Tom Petty, Steely Dan, Sade, Bon Jovi, Grateful Dead, The Eagles and others. Jason is very excited to be working with Cherish and is helping prepare her next Album.

CHERISH WINS WCCMA FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR 2011Cherish won the West Coast Country Music Association Top Female Vocalist of the year 2011 and was runner-up for Entertainer of the Year 2011 for new country. Held at Stuart Cellars Vineyard and Winery this year, the awards were fun for everyone who attended! and Cherish was honored to recieve female Vocalist for New Country.WCCMA , dedicated to provide performers the opportunity to grow by giving them a chance to showcase their talent at local venues, community events, benefits, and local and regional festivals. It also includes the opportunity to represent the "West Coast" annually at the NACMAI competition in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. WCCMA educates performers through various workshops and songwriting groups along with performance opportunities.
CHERISH LENDS VOCALS TO STEVE STAHL AND BILLY ALEXANDERCherish in the studio recording as a demo singer! Cherish has been lending talent and vocals to producer Steve Stahl (Brittney Spears, Jason Derulo, 36 Mafia), As well as Billy Alexander (John Waite, Allison Krauss) recording new, currently unreleased songs in an effort to develop her vocal repertoire and expand her song book.

2011 has been a great year for Cherish musically. Not only has she been in the studio writing and recording new music, but she has enjoyed playing live immensely this year. A Note from Cherish

Hi, everyone!As the holidays are upon me, I've been reminded of the many blessings in my life this last year and throughout a lifetime. I have family and friends who are always showing me their love,kindness and support. I have a roof over my head and food to eat. For all of these things I am grateful. I can't help but think of those who have been struggling this past year with things such as sickness or being unemployed or whatever it is making life difficult or painful.... Good people just trying to get by and they are in my thoughts and prayers.I was involved in a project this year that truly touched my heart. It involved an issue that isn't so easily fixed. It's affects go so deep...for so long. I'm talking about victims of violence and abuse.I was honored to participate in a project this year called,"Season of Hope" with the Girls Against Abuse. A beautiful holiday album and a musical campaign to help women and youth to Recognize, Resist and Recover from abuse and mistreatment. To lend my voice to such a worthy project was profound. I hope you will join me this holiday season in supporting this cause.
